![]() Award-winning author John Sheirer’s Stumbling Through Adulthood offers a detailed and wide-ranging look at the connections between intimate, personal experience and the overall culture of America during recent decades leading directly to the present. The characters come from different backgrounds of race, gender, sexual identity, age, economic status, nationality, and political viewpoints. They represent humanity. These stand-alone tales also feature characters who reappear in multiple stories like surprise visits from long-lost friends. Some protagonists grow through different life stages, adding depth and texture as they age, change, and adapt. Sheirer’s beautiful prose combines realism, struggles, failures, triumphs, relationships, family, work, humor, ethical conundrums, politics, and even a few otherworldly visitors. Through it all, empathy and hope bind these characters together as they stumble through adulthood, strive to catch each other as they fall, and move toward a better future. |
