The Fifth Annual PenCraft Book Awards honored a local publisher and awarded three of the books published there.

Blue Handle Publishing was founded by Charles D’Amico in 2020.

D’Amico won the Pencraft Award for Literary Excellence in suspense for his mystery thriller novel “Veritas.”

He also received second place honors in the mystery sleuth category for “Colloquium”

Another book published by Blue Handle is Andrew J Brandt’s “Mixtape for the End of the World,” which won 2nd place in the young adult coming-of-age category.

The Pencraft Awards are given to books from small presses like Blue Handle and independent publishers.

Winners are selected by a panel of judges composed of authors and librarians and are based on content, writing excellence, and originality.
